Clients are encouraged to email or telephone Sara to discuss their horse, the problems they are experiencing and their goal.

The next step is to arrange an assessment for your horse. Sara feels it is essential for clients to understand what is involved so that they can make an informed decision before embarking on a clinic or lessons. Assessments take between 2 and 3 hours. This is a unique opportunity to see your horse through different eyes and to understand where the problems lie. Sara’Äôs clients really enjoy this session and come away feeling reassured and confident that they have a future with their horse.

Assessment for your horse will involve:

  1. A discussion about your horse, the problems you have and what you hope to achieve. An explanation of the science behind training and behaviour. An introduction to the biomechanics and the importance of the correct posture in horses. How Sara plans to achieve these things and the team of people that help her.
  2. Assess your horse in the stable and look at his posture and his general behaviour. Look at your saddle if appropriate.
  3. Demonstrate some basic ground work in the stable and explain the importance of clarity in training.
  4. In the arena Sara will continue with the ground work and gain basic obedience before moving on to help the horse with his posture either in hand or on the lunge which ever she feels is appropriate.
  5. Sara will then ride your horse if the horse is ready and if Sara feels it will be beneficial.
  6. Discussion about the way forward and any questions you may have. A plan will then be discussed for you and your horse including time scale and price.

All the above depends upon the age of your horse, previous education and severity of the problem.  Sara will do what she feels is necessary to help your horse at this stage and for you to see an improvement. You will now need time to think about everything Sara has explained in the assessment. There is no pressure to make a decision on the day about proceeding down this route and questions are always welcome.
